Coolbet Casino Ontario: what it was, and where to play now
Coolbet's casino went dark in Ontario in March 2023, together with its sportsbook. Here's what the Ontario lobby offered, what the casino looks like today outside the province, how to read an RTP figure, and how to find a casino that's allowed to take your play.
Coolbet Casino and Ontario, in short
Coolbet's casino closed in Ontario at the same time as its sportsbook. According to Covers, Coolbet switched off all deposits on 21 March 2023, closed gaming the next day and shut its Ontario site on 3 April 2023, the date its iGaming registration was due to expire. Slots, tables and bets all went together.
It hasn't come back. On 4 November 2026 we checked iGaming Ontario's operator directory, which lists 49 operators and 84 gaming sites. Neither Coolbet nor Polar Limited, the Malta company that holds its licence, is among them. Coolbet still operates in other countries, and in some other provinces under that Malta licence, but none of it is open to players in Ontario.
So the honest answer to "Coolbet Casino Ontario" is that there isn't one. What follows is the record: what the Ontario lobby offered while it was live, what Coolbet's casino looks like today, and how to pick a regulated Ontario casino instead. How the casino closed
Less than two weeks passed between the day deposits stopped and the day the site went dark. Coolbet's message to Ontario customers was short: "We strongly encourage you to withdraw your funds as soon as possible."

What Coolbet's Ontario lobby was like
The best record of the Ontario casino is Strafe's review, written in 2022 while Coolbet was AGCO-registered. Its standout detail was transparency: the lobby showed each slot's payout percentage (RTP) on the thumbnail, so you could compare games before opening one.
Games sat in New Games and Hot Games categories, and you could browse by provider. Strafe found no Ontario app, only a mobile site. Covers' exit report, though, says Coolbet closed its Ontario "site and mobile app", so the sources differ on whether a native Ontario app ever existed.
For deposits, Strafe listed Interac, MuchBetter, and credit and debit cards. Support ran by live chat, email and phone, but not around the clock: chat and email from 2 am to 7 pm, phone from 2 am to 5 pm. Strafe's verdict today is blunt: "Coolbet is no longer recommended."

Coolbet's casino today, outside Ontario
None of this is open to you in Ontario. We couldn't verify what Coolbet's lobby holds in the Canadian provinces where it still operates; the most detailed recent description is gambling.com's 2026 review of Coolbet in Sweden.
3,000+ games, RTP on the tiles
gambling.com counted more than 3,000 casino games and found RTP shown on many of the tiles, the same habit Strafe noticed in Ontario four years earlier.
Its own jackpot, plus crash games
Coolbet runs its own progressive jackpot, the Coolbet Jackpot, alongside crash games and video poker.
Live and first-person tables
Blackjack and roulette come in first-person versions, and live tables come from Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Stakelogic Live and OnAir Entertainment.
Stakelogic arrived a few months after Coolbet left Ontario. In August 2023, CasinoBeats reported that Coolbet had added Stakelogic's slots and its Stakelogic Live tables, quoting Endre Nesset, President at Coolbet: "Stakelogic is adding creative and vibrant games to our vast portfolio of casino content."
In Sweden the casino runs under Polar Limited with a licence from Spelinspektionen, valid from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2028. gambling.com also lists Swedish welcome offers; they apply to Coolbet's Swedish site and aren't available in Ontario. Our Coolbet bonus code page explains them, and our Coolbet app page covers the Estonian app.
What RTP means, and what it doesn't
RTP stands for return to player. It's a theoretical figure: the share of all the money staked on a game that the game is designed to pay back over a very large number of rounds. The rest is the house edge, the casino's built-in margin.
RTP describes the long run across all players, not your session. Over an evening, your results can land far above or far below it, and a higher RTP doesn't make a win more likely on any single spin. It's still a fair way to compare games, which is why Coolbet's habit of printing it on thumbnails stood out.
If a lobby doesn't show RTP, open the game's help or information screen at the casino where you play, and treat that figure as the one that applies there.
Hypothetical example
Take a hypothetical slot with a 96% RTP. Across $100,000 of total bets from all its players, it's designed to pay back about $96,000 over the long run and keep about $4,000, a 4% house edge. One player making 100 spins at $1 stakes $100 but could finish with $20 or with $300; the 96% only shows up over an enormous number of spins. These numbers are invented for illustration and don't describe any real game.
Slots from AGCO-registered studios
Pragmatic Play and Relax Gaming both supply Ontario's regulated casinos. These are popular titles of the kind you'll find in an iGO-listed lobby. They aren't a list of Coolbet's games, and we don't quote RTPs for them: check each game's info screen where you play.
A familiar game proves nothing
Ontario polices suppliers as well as casinos. On 7 May 2026 the AGCO imposed a $40,000 monetary penalty each on Relax Gaming and on Arrise Solutions, the company behind Pragmatic Play, over games supplied to unregulated sites. Both remain AGCO-registered suppliers. The lesson for players: the same titles can turn up on sites that aren't allowed to serve Ontario, so spotting a game you know tells you nothing about the site. The iGO directory does.
How to choose a regulated Ontario casino
Ontario's regulated market has plenty of casinos, so you don't need Coolbet to play slots or live tables. Three checks keep you on the right side of the rules.
1
Start with the iGO directory
iGaming Ontario publishes every regulated site. Its directory, last updated 1 September 2026, listed 49 operators and 84 gaming sites when we checked on 4 November. If a casino isn't there, it isn't regulated in Ontario.
2
Look for the iGO logo
Regulated sites display iGaming Ontario's logo and are registered with the AGCO. If something goes wrong, complain to the operator first; the AGCO can step in for a registered operator, but it can't help with a site it doesn't regulate.
3
Compare games, not giveaways
Ontario's rules stop registered operators from publicly advertising bonuses, so judge a casino on what you can see: the studios in its lobby, whether it shows RTP, its limit tools and how withdrawals work.
There's one more reason to stay regulated. Coolbet has now left two provinces at short notice: Ontario in 2023 and Alberta in 2026. Both times it voided and refunded unsettled bets (in Alberta, World Cup bets were the exception) and gave players a window to withdraw. A site operating outside a province's system can leave whenever its numbers or the rules change.

Coolbet Casino Ontario FAQ
Is Coolbet Casino available in Ontario?
No. Coolbet closed gaming in Ontario on 22 March 2023 and shut its Ontario site on 3 April 2023. Neither Coolbet nor its licence holder, Polar Limited, appears in iGaming Ontario's operator directory, the official list of sites allowed to serve Ontario players.
Did Coolbet's Ontario casino show RTP?
Yes. Strafe's 2022 review says the lobby showed each slot's payout percentage on its thumbnail. gambling.com's 2026 review of Coolbet in Sweden found RTP shown on many tiles there too.
How many games does Coolbet Casino have?
gambling.com counted more than 3,000 casino games on Coolbet's Swedish site in 2026. We found no published game count for the old Ontario lobby, and we couldn't verify the count in other Canadian provinces.
Which live casino studios does Coolbet use?
According to gambling.com's Swedish review, Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Stakelogic Live and OnAir Entertainment. CasinoBeats reported that Stakelogic Live tables were added in August 2023, after Coolbet had left Ontario.
Is there a Coolbet casino app in Canada?
No. A search of Canada's App Store returns no Coolbet app, and the Google Play page of its current app returns an error for Canada. Coolbet's iPhone app, Coolbet Eesti, which includes the casino, is listed only in Estonia.
Does a higher RTP mean I'll win more?
Not in any single session. RTP is a long-run average across an enormous number of rounds and all players. It's useful for comparing games, but your own results can land far above or below it.
Where can I play slots legally in Ontario?
At any casino listed in iGaming Ontario's operator directory, which displays the iGO logo and is registered with the AGCO. You must be 19 or older. Studios such as Pragmatic Play and Relax Gaming are AGCO-registered suppliers to those casinos.
